I’ve been tracking my calories the past month and have found that I consume about 6000mg of sodium a day. I read that the average American consumes about 4500mg even though the RDA is 2400mg. Besides possibly increasing blood pressure, what are (if any) other health concerns than come up from having too much sodium in your diet?
I have not read anywhere that sodium slows metabolism. Can you sight your source please?

    sodium = salt

    salt, or sodium slows down your metabolism.

    Too much salt can cause a negative effect in the future; causing hypertension.

    Try and avoid salts of all types. (Especially Mustard, all it contains is sodium)
