The health inspector was called on me and my friends condo. We dont know when the health inspector is comming, and we arent sure what to do to prepare for the visit.

What are some things we should pay special attention to and do before the health inspector comes over to the condo to visit?

What are things the health inspector looks for?

We need to make sure we pass the exam so we dont have to move out.

It takes a lot to get a health inspector called to a private residence.
What you have to do is clean up, no magazines, newspapers, clothes on the floor, food rotting in the fridge, brown crusts on the toilet.
Mold on the bathroom surfaces. Clean the oven, wash the walls.
Clean sheets, blankets and make sure kitchen is washed and clear.
You don’t want the fire inspectors due to the mess.
If you have pets make sure their food is in vermin proof containers and they aren’t fed all day long.
You are a private residence, you don’t need to sterilize, but you do need to clean, straighten and make sure there are no dog or cat feces.
    Or their odors.

All surfaces clean. All dirty dishes cleaned up or at least rinsed off. (fungus growing on plates turns up their evict them habits)

Make sure your bathroom is clean, get rid of black mold and the like.

Vacuum even under the bed. Fresh towels and sheets and the like.

Check for outdated food in the cupboards and the frig. (No science projects should remain in frig, toss!)

Tidy up by putting every thing away, clothes in closet and/or drawers. If you have a lack of space for clothes, fold neatly and pile in an orderly fashion.
